What we collect

  • Account information such as email address, account identifiers, authentication provider information, and basic profile metadata when you sign in or create an account through Firebase Authentication or similar account systems.
  • Usage data such as pages viewed, approximate device/browser information, logs, and technical diagnostics. Some usage analytics may be collected through third-party services such as Google Analytics, only where applicable and subject to your cookie choices.
  • Vehicle information you enter, such as make, model, year, mileage, transmission, fuel type, warning lights, notes, and other diagnostic form inputs.
  • Audio files and recordings that you upload or record for diagnosis, including metadata such as duration, file type, and technical processing data.
  • AI-related diagnostic inputs and outputs, including structured diagnostic form data, transcript text, sound classifications, generated reports, and history entries associated with your account.
  • Credits and billing-related data, such as credit balance, credit usage, unlock actions, purchased package identifiers, transaction references, payment status, and related account history.
  • Contribution uploads submitted through any “earn credit” or contributor workflow, including uploaded files, descriptions, consent flags, moderation status, anti-abuse metadata, and associated storage references.
  • Location data only if you choose to use location-based features such as “Find garages near me” and grant permission in your browser or device.
  • Feedback and support communications, such as message content, optional email addresses, and support requests sent through contact or feedback tools.
  • Local storage data on your device, including saved drafts, saved preferences, local UI state, selected vehicle settings, cookie choices, and other browser-stored items used to improve your experience.

Why we collect

  • To provide the Service, including free and paid diagnostic features.
  • To create and manage your account, keep you signed in, and secure access to account-only features.
  • To process and display diagnostic results, PDF outputs, premium unlocks, and account history.
  • To manage credits, purchases, unlock consumption, and fraud-prevention controls.
  • To process contribution uploads, moderation decisions, contributor status, and related rewards or credits.
  • To improve product quality, debugging, security, anti-abuse systems, and performance.
  • To provide analytics and aggregate usage insights, subject to your consent choices where required.
  • To communicate with you about support, feedback, service issues, account matters, or transaction-related events.

Data sharing

  • Firebase / Google Cloud services may be used for authentication, Firestore storage, file storage, and related backend infrastructure.
  • Stripe or payment processors may process payments, checkout sessions, and related payment verification or transaction events. We do not store full card details on our own servers.
  • Hosting and backend providers may process technical data needed to run the site and backend services.
  • Google services may be used for Maps, Places, Analytics, or related functionality, depending on the feature you choose to use.
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim / Overpass may be used to enrich addresses or map-related results where applicable.
  • Email or support tools may process support, feedback, or contact requests.
  • We may disclose data if required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights, users, systems, or services.
  • We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

  • Account information is retained for as long as your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or internal recordkeeping.
  • Diagnostic history, profile data, uploaded audio, and related records may be retained for as long as needed to operate the Service, provide account history, investigate issues, prevent abuse, and improve systems, unless deleted earlier or subject to legal obligations.
  • Billing and transaction records may be retained as required for accounting, fraud prevention, audit, or legal compliance purposes.
  • Contribution uploads and moderation records may be retained to support anti-abuse rules, contributor status, audits, and service improvement.
  • Analytics data is retained according to the applicable provider’s settings.
  • Local drafts and browser-stored items remain on your device until you clear them or your browser removes them.

Your choices

  • You can accept or decline cookies where presented.
  • You can revoke device location access in your browser or device settings.
  • You can clear local drafts, saved selections, and browser storage from your device.
  • You can contact us regarding access, correction, or deletion requests, subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs.
  • You may be able to delete certain content by using available account or browser controls, but some records may still be retained for legal, fraud-prevention, or security reasons.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children. Do not use the Service or purchase paid features if you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction.

International transfers

Third-party providers we use may process or store data outside your province, state, or country, including in the United States or other jurisdictions. By using the Service, you understand that your data may be transferred and processed internationally, subject to the safeguards and policies of those providers.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission, storage, or online security is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when updates are made. Material changes may be highlighted within the Service.

Examples of browser-stored items may include:

  • Draft and form state such as mas_draft_v2 and related draft/history keys.
  • Vehicle profile, car selection, credits UI cache, and other account or UI convenience keys stored locally on your device.

Some cookies or storage items are necessary for the Service to function properly. Others, such as analytics-related items, may be optional depending on your consent choice.
